Chicken Soup Recalled
More than 3,000 pounds of chicken soup is being recalled due to the labeling on the cans being wrong.
According to WTEN and the Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the soup brand, Kettle Cuisine’s 24 ounce cups of “Mom’s Chicken Soup” with a use by date of February 17th is mislabeled and is actually Italian wedding soup with meatballs.
The affected soups have the establishment number P-18468 inside the USDA mark of inspection.
Health officials have said that, the soup’s unlabeled ingredients are known allergens and could really harm anyone who consumes them. The good news here is that as of today, there haven’t been any confirmed reports of any allergic reactions to the mislabeled soup.
The recalled soups were sent to Whole Foods Market stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Rhode Island. So if you took a trip to do any food shopping at Whole Foods make sure you check your cabinets when you get home.
