Police Seize 160 Pounds of Pot in Orange County

This article has been updated to reflect that the suspect was convicted of possession of 8 pounds of marijuana and that the charges were not related to the additional 130-pound marijuana seizure in various Orange County locations.

An Orange County man has been arrested and charged after New York State Police (NYSP) seized a large quantity of marijuana from his home with the assistance of police K9 named Ash.

According to a New York State Police press release, that was subsequently removed, the suspect was found with 8 pounds of marijuana, two ounces of marijuana wax, and $8,400 in cash after a raid on his home.

In separate searches unrelated to the suspect, the police K-9 found 130 lbs of marijuana in storage units across storage shed locations in the County.

The suspect was charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance. Since the publishing of this article, the accused record has been expunged.
