It all happened over Memorial Day weekend in Saratoga Springs near Albany New York.

The controversy started after a motorcyclist flew a Confederate Flag during a parade celebration.

According to WTEN, officials in Saratoga Springs say they will now create new guidelines for people that want to participate in future parades after a motorcyclist flew a Confederate flag during the annual Memorial Day event.

Some people in attendance at the parade were angered after a biker riding at the end of the May 26 parade displayed a large Confederate flag from a staff attached to the rear of his motorcycle, there was a much smaller U.S. flag was next to the Confederate flag.

The mayor of Saratoga Springs told WTEN that steps will be taken to screen groups participating in future parades and that the man may have been from Georgia, but she’s unaware of how he got into the parade.

City officials are investigating.
