Did you know the first Saturday in February is Take Your Child to The Library Day? Most libraries across the US celebrate on that first Saturday, others opt for another day throughout the month of February.

How To Celebrate Take Your Child To The Library Day?

According to the Take Your Child to The Library Day website, thousands of libraries participate in the annual February event.

Libraries will offer "free, fun, fabulous activities for families." The TYCLD website adds "Your local library is an ideal place for children to play, discover, make friends, and have fun. And Take Your Child to the Library Day is the perfect time to discover some library magic."

Programs include crafts, ice cream socials, story times, magicians and more!

You can visit your local libraries website to see how they'll be celebrating Take Your Child to the Library Day or the TYCLD website.

For instance the LaGrange Association Library will be celebrating with Author visits, storytimes, scavenger hunts, and other activities. Mahopac Library will also have scavenger hunts, Family Story Time plus, games and crafts.

The Town of Ulster will celebrate with a "fun day filled with library card registration, games, and crafts!"
