Casting Call: New York State Horses Needed for Movie

The Hudson Valley is filled with talented equestrian experts and beautiful horses. Those experts and their horses could be on the big screen in the future.

The mid-Hudson region is no stranger to the big screen as hundreds of new television and movie productions have taken place in our neighborhoods.

New York State Horse Movie in the Works

Dutchess County Horse Source shared on Facebook last week that they are currently working on a project giving New York State horses the spotlight. They share that they are working on a movie that will show the world "the diversified NYS horse community."

The casting call is asking for videos that are less than 2 minutes long. The videos should feature any of the following:

Trail riding videos taken on NYS trails (public or private)
Cow horse videos taken at NYS facility/show
Western riding videos taken at NYS facility/show
Jumping and Dressage videos taken at NYS facility/show
Driving, Barrel Racing, Pole Bending, Roping, Reining, Recreational riding, etc

The DC Horse Source adds that videos from NYS Pony Clubs, 4-H, FFA, Empire State Paint Horse Club, New York State Horse Council, and more will be accepted.

Horse Casting Call Information

If you or someone you know is a perfect fit for the film they'll need to submit video submission by March 1st, 2023. Each submission must include the following:

Your First and Last Name
Email Address
Phone Number
Location of where the clip was filmed/where you're from.
1-2 lines telling us about the video
