Most of the towns across New York State are all unique in their own way. Many of them have places and attractions that folks from out of town come to visit at various times. Some of them are known for food, others for history, but one thing many towns have in common is that they all have one great place to enjoy ice cream.
America Loves Ice Cream
It's hard to accurately count how many ice cream shops there are in New York, but almost every town has at least one. Last year, there were approximately 17,750+ ice cream shops in business across the nation, and that number is expected to rise in 2025.
So, YES, ice cream is extremely popular, which is why it comes as no surprise that when a popular Hudson Valley name in ice cream announces they are opening a new shop in a new neighborhood, the locals get excited.
