Kerhonkson, New York Farm Loads Up Candy Cannon For the Season

There are several moments across the Hudson Valley the indicate summer is just about here. One of those moments, for me at least, is when local farms and orchards start opening up their gates after a long winter season.

Kelder's Farm in Kerhonkson, New York is opened for business and is loaded up the Candy Cannon to celebrate.

Candy Cannon Ready to Launch in Kerhonkson, New York

Kelder's Farm in Kerhonkson kicked off their 2024 season with a successful Tulip Festival. Thousands of tulips bloomed across the fields bringing a gorgeous site of yellow, purple and pink tulips swaying in the April breeze.

While the Kelder family gears up for Strawberry picking season, which is slated to start on June 1st, they have also announced the return of a fan favorite: the Candy Cannon!

The Candy Cannon is exactly what you think it is. A cannon that launches out candy across the fields at Kelder's Farm. Take a look below of the Candy Cannon in action:

From what we gather, the Candy Cannon launches at 4 pm every weekend and is free with admission to the farm. You can learn more about the Candy Cannon and everything Kelder's Farm has to offer, including season passes (!!!) at KeldersFarm.com. 

Strawberry Picking Season Begins on June 1st, 2024

Many farms in the Hudson Valley are prepping for Strawberry picking season, including Kelder's Farm. According to their Facebook page, Strawberry picking begins in Kerhonkson on June 1st, 2024.

With that being said, Kelder's Farm will be opened for Strawberry picking and will have their seasonal Gnomie Shakes ready to go!

During Strawberry season the Gnomie Shake is a "perfect blend of sweet strawberries, lemonade, and cream" that's made with a swirl of frozen strawberry lemonade and vanilla ice cream. Then, the shake is topped with a "farm-fresh cinnamon sugar donut, a juicy strawberry and a dollop of whipped cream."

Summer Fun in Ulster County

The unofficial start to the 2024 summer season in Ulster County kicked off in a big way. Back on May 20th, 2024 when the pop-up Cheez-In Diner opened its doors.

The Worlds Only Cheez-In Diner drew thousands of Cheez-It enthusiasts to Tinker Street in Woodstock, New York. From May 20th through the 26th guests could enjoy a Cheez-It-themed menu like Cheez-It crusted chicken tenders and a Cheez-It milkshake.
