Canaan Smith powered through a show in Pennsylvania before he needed medical attention for the second time in two days. The singer went from being fiercely sick to the stage to a hospital.

"I will always give you everything I've got," Smith says on Instagram as he shared multiple pictures from his day. He describes a pain in his abdomen that felt like a knife being twisted and the loss of all bodily fluids. That forced him to miss his bus call time, but he caught a flight to play the show at the Centre County Grange Fair before again needing medical attention. Photos show him being wheeled into the back of an ambulance.

"Thanks for the support, Pennsylvania," he writes. "And thanks to the fine medics/nurses/doctors at State College for taking care of me."

A final note lets fans expecting to see him Thursday night in Delaware know that he'll be there and be ready. The malady that kept him down for an overnight was not shared, but he clearly needed plenty of fluids and rest.

The "Like You That Way" singer has had a bit of bad luck over the last 12 to 14 months. In addition to this illness he had his rental car broken into and guitar stolen in June. Last July his tour bus caught fire. No one was hurt in either incident.

Smith has a full slate of shows scheduled through early October. He's said to be working on his next studio album.
