Growing up in the Hudson Valley as a teenager, my friends and I were convinced there was never anything fun to do. So many night, after we finally got our licenses, were spent driving around town.

We would always stop at the closest 7-Eleven and grab a Slurpee. Personally, I liked to mix it up with either Blue Raspberry OR a mix of cherry and Coke flavors. With that being said, I'm super excited to share that a time old tradition is back.

Bring Your Own Cup Day Returns to the Hudson Valley

7-Eleven has announced the return of their Bring Your Own Cup Day! On Saturday, April 29th 2023 customers are encouraged to "tap into their creativity and grab their favorite cup, astronaut helmet, mason jar, pie tin or any other unconventional container and fill with their favorite flavor of Slurpee drink for just $1.99" according to a press release through PR Wire.

Ben Boulden, Director of Proprietary Beverages for 7-Eleven, said in a press release "We love seeing customers enjoy our products in fun ways – especially when it comes to our beloved, iconic Slurpee drink."  Boulden added "From cowboy boot to fishbowl...the more creative the cup, the better. We can't wait to see what our customers come up with this year."

Thanks to Boulden I'm now dreaming of a fishbowl filled with blue raspberry Slurpee and a cute little umbrella. I might even add some Swedish Fish for extra flair.

Are There Any 7-Eleven Locations Left in the Hudson Valley?

While 7-Eleven locations are few and far between in the Hudson Valley (there are currently 3 locations in Poughkeepsie, Newburgh and Jefferson Valley), in the 'BYO Cup' press release they explained that you'll be able to enjoy your $1.99 Slurpee drink from not only 7-Eleven but from Speedway and Stripes stores. And we know there are a ton of Speedway's across the region. Lucky us!

And as an added bonus, they are adding a new limited edition flavor to the mix: Fanta Dragon Fruit Zero Sugar. Which to me, sounds like it will mix well with blue raspberry or cherry flavors!

I don't know about you, but Slurpee's make me think of summertime and mini-golf. Why not check one of these Hudson Valley putt-putt courses this year?
