If you have a young boy or girl who has always wondered what it would be like to be in a scouting program you should bring them out on Thursday September 26th to Rocket Into Scouting 2019. This fun informative evening introduces your children ages Kindergarten to 5th grade to the world of scouting with the Rip Van Winkle Council as your host.

This scout recruiting event is open to boys and girls Kindergarten to 5th grade who attend elementary schools in Ulster and Greene Counties. This event is for new kids interested in joining the scouts. The event begins at 6:30 PM and runs until 8 PM and will be held Thursday night September 26th at the Highland Elementary School 16 Lockhart Lane in Highland.

So why is it called Rocket into Scouting? Simple every child that signs up to join the Rip Van Winkle Council that evening will receive a rocket that they can actually fly. The Rip Van Winkle Council has a scouting store which you can visit in advance to see the rockets they will be handing out that night to new scouts. Feel free to visit the store in the Hudson Valley Mall 1300 Ulster Avenue in Kingston. You can contact the store by phone 845-339-0846 or stop in during business hours Monday through Friday 10 AM to 6 PM and Saturdays 10 Am to 5 PM. They are closed on Sundays.
