Tim Gunther passed away from cardiac related issues after battling a fire in Poughkeepsie back in May. He was on the job for 21 years before making the ultimate sacrifice. Tim was the first city firefighter to die in the line of duty since 1971.

According to the Poughkeepsie Journal, the New York Blood Center will be putting on a blood drive to honor the memory of Tim Gunther.

The blood drive will take place on Sept. 8 at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, from 2 to 8 p.m. Please donate if you can.
