Ashley McBryde is one of the most-respected newer artists in country music today, and she's been enjoying the perks of some of that success. In an interview with Taste of Country Nights, the singer-songwriter reveals that she already got to write with Miranda Lambert.

McBryde has just released her debut album, Girl Going Nowhere, and she's making a big splash with her first single, "A Little Dive Bar in Dahlonega." Lambert's always looking to support women in country music, and she took McBryde out on the road with her — an experience that McBryde recalls with a great deal of fondness.

"Talk about a class act," she raves. "She's so kind, so generous. We had gifts ... she bought me a dinosaur onesie! Who does that? It's amazing."

"She's just so much fun," McBryde adds. "She got us flowers one night. She's just a class act in every way. Besides the fact that she's a really good songwriter and really good entertainer, she's really good to her openers."

McBryde adopted a dog from Lambert's MuttNation Foundation after she ended up having lunch with Lambert's mother, Bev, who helps run the Foundation. That led to her writing a song with Lambert.

"She's just brilliant," she gushes. She admits they were drinking "a little, but not enough to hurt anything" as they wrote a new song together. "Cigarettes were sometimes involved," she adds, cautioning, "That's a really bad idea ... don't ever do it, kids."

As far as that song coming to light? "Not yet," McBryde says. Which means we still have an Ashley McBryde / Miranda Lambert co-write to look forward to!
