It's one of the greatest sports traditions of all time.

This Saturday, December 8th, the Army Black Knights will take on the Navy Midshipmen at 3pm  Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia. The Army/Navy match up is a time honored tradition dating back to 1890.

According to Newsweek the Midshipmen had "won 14-straight Army-Navy games, from 2002 through 2015" but the Army made a turnaround and has won in 2016 and 2017. For the first time since 1996 the Army Football Program cracked the Associated Press Top 25 College Football Teams poll. The Black Knights came in at number 23.

Since it's such a big game, West Point needs to bring their A game. The first step is getting new uniforms. This past Saturday, December 2nd a week before the big game, Army debut their new look on Twitter.

Nike and Army teamed up for these specialty jerseys. The jerseys are to honor the soldiers of the 1st Infantry Division. Nike also states "2018 marks the 100th anniversary of America's First Division helping end the first Great War of the 20th Century."

Nike's Big Red One website breaks down the jersey's and the specific meaning behind some of the uniform.

Navy will be sporting new uniforms too. Under Armor created the "Bill The Goat" uniform for the Midshipmen.

As for the game, Newsweek asked Army Football captain Bryce Holland if the Black Knights are focused on keeping the winning streak alive and he said "It’s not really about the streak. It’s about winning the next game. That is what Army football is all about. We always talk about going 1-0 each week. So we’re not worried about holding on to some streak. We’re concerned with winning this next game against Navy."
