Every day I open social media and find myself saying 'Thank god for the internet." What a weird place.

Earlier this week a trend started making the rounds and it had nothing to do with dancing. This one has to do with a unique, albeit a little random, question.

The Latest Trend? The Roman Empire...

A video on Instagram Reels/TikTok of a girl asking her boyfriend "How often do you think about the Roman Empire" took off like a rocket. Mostly because of how her boyfriend answered.

In my current studies, I have come to the conclusion that generally millennial males are thinking about the Roman Empire more than Gen X or Boomers. And by my studies, I mean I asked male friends my age, then older males in my family and workplace.

What does this mean? Who knows! I think movies like Gladiator, and video games like Ancient Empires in the 90s have really left an impact on millennial males.

What Historic Event Are Women Obsessing Over?

Twitter and TikTok had a field day with the opposite end of the Roman Empire question. What are women thinking about? At least historically, many answers range from The Titanic (because Leonardo DiCaprio had a hold on us millennial women and still does, even if we're older than 26) and The Salem Witch Trials (thanks, Hocus Pocus!).

If you're having a slow day at work or at home ask a male counterpart how often they think of the Roman Empire. Let us know what they say and we'll add it to our studies and data.
