New Paltz Christmas Tree Bonfire Postponed Again [Update]
UPDATE: Word has just come in and has been confirmed via a phone call to the Village of New Paltz DPW that this event has been postponed until further notice. When the new date is set we will be sure to get the word out.
The 6th Annual Christmas Tree Bonfire that was scheduled for this weekend in the Village of New Paltz has been reschedule for next Saturday, January 13th at 5pm due to the record cold expected over this weekend.
This annual tradition in New Paltz has become the go to event for people who need to dispose of their Christmas tree and for folks who love a good bonfire. You still have time to get your tree into the fire. If you live in the village you can put the tree curbside by Friday the 12th and contact the Village DPW that the tree is there and ready for pickup. DPW can be reach by phone at 845-255-1980. You can also drop your tree at the Village DPW which is next to the Village Hall at 25 Plattekill Avenue. Be sure to drop it off by 10am on the 12th. The third way is you can just bring your tree with you to the bonfire.
Donations that night will be welcome to help support the New Paltz Volunteer Fire Department who will be on hand to manage the bonfire as they do every year. This is a fun way to rid yourself of your old tree and treat the family to a great bonfire.
For information you can contact the Village Clerk Alberta Shaw at 845-255-0130.
