It's that time of year and an Upstate, New York police department is making sure their community has been warned of the highly addictive substance being sold in their town.

Upstate, New York Police Warn of Addictive Substance

The Ticonderoga Police Department in Essex Coutny, New York near Lake George and Lake Champlain has shared details of a "high addictive substance" making its way to the region this week.

In the post that was shared on social media the Ticonderoga PD writes "The Ticonderoga Police Department has received reports that highly addictive substances will soon be circulating in our area."

They go on to address the substances by name adding:

These substances go by names like "Thin Mints," "Samoas," "Tagalongs," and "Trefoils."
It looks like the Ticonderoga PD also knows who is distributing the substances calling the dealers "strong, smart, fearless young women who will lure you in with their kindness and do good story and then "Bam" they set the hook."

Ticonderoga PD Jokes With Local Girl Scout Troops

Clearly the post is all in good fun and taking a jab at Girl Scout Cookie season which is underway across New York State.

Ticonderoga PD wants the community to know they are there for them during the sales of the highly delicious, we mean highly addictive substances, writing:

We have set up a drop-off location for these so called "Girl Scout Cookies" at the Ticonderoga Police Department so our brave and selfless officers can dispose of them safely and properly. We are here to "Protect and Serve."

Girl Scout Cookie Prices on the Rise in New York?

If you're planning on or have already purchased Girl Scout Cookies for the 2025 season, have you noticed an uptick in prices?

Many in the Hudson Valley community have noticed a price increase this year as well as across the state. Long Island communities note that cookies were $6 last year and now $7 this year.

Some are calling it "Cookie-flation."

In other Girl Scout Cookie news, 2 flavors are being retired out of the core Girl Scout Cookie line up this year: S'mores and Toast Yay's.

Do You Remember These Girl Scout Cookie Flavors?

Can You Remember Your Favorite Girl Scout Cookie growing up?

As much as we enjoy Girl Scout Cookies in 2023, we often miss the ones that we used to love growing up. Have you heard of my personal favorite Girl Scout Cookies that are now retired?

Thanks-A-Lots
Shortbread cookies are always a win. This Girl Scout Cookie was dipped in chocolate and it also had a friendly message on it. It had the words "Thank You" on it.

Ole Oles
These powdered sugar cookies were delicious. They also had pecans and coconut mixed in and were reduced fat.

Lemon Chalet Creme
This was one of my favorite lemon cookies to ever exist. How could a lemon sandwich cookie ever go wrong? The added cinnamon and ginger made it one of a kind.

Juliettes,
I remember that these cookies were named after the founder of The Girl Scouts, Juliette Low. It reminded me of a chocolate turtle with its being covered in caramel, pecans and milk chocolate.

Ra Ra Raisens
This was unlike your ordinary raisin cookie. This Girl Scout Cookie brought in oatmeal and yogurt chips with the raisins.

Savannah Smiles
This Girl Scout Cookie knew how to put a smile on your face. They were lemon wedge cookies with powdered sugar.

Which Girl Scout Cookies Are Your Favorite?

I loved the Girl Scout Cookies that were discontinued but also enjoy the present day one as well.
