You might not realize you have been to Port Ewen, New York. It isn't a big town but it is big for the people who live there. According to the 2020 census, the population of this little Ulster County Hamlet was 3678 persons.

Businesses line those streets and regular customers stop in for their favorites. Places like Smitty's Deli and Van Loans Discount Beverage have been serving Port Ewen for generations. Mario's Pizza got a big shout-out for their delicious food. And newcomer Emily's Cookies has fit right in with their delicious treat.

The Port Ewen Diner changed hands a few years ago but it still is a favorite place for locals to go which means if you are traveling through it is a good place to stop for lunch.
