
Over 40 Missing Kids in New York Found Thanks to Missing Child Rescue Operation
Thanks to the the Westchester Missing Child Rescue Operation over 40 children and teens missing from New York were recently located.
43 Missing New York Children Found Thanks to Rescue Operation
In a press release from the Division of Criminal Justice Services, 43 missing teens and children from New York have been found.
It was all through the Westchester Missing Child Rescue Operation. The Division of Criminal Justice Service Missing Persons Clearinghouse partnered up with several departments like NY Office of Children and Family Services and the National Child Protection Task Force.
Additionally, 70 other agencies, non profits and private partners supported local police in their search for these missing children and teens.
3 Day Operation Brings Missing Children Home to New York Families
The press release goes on to explain that the Missing Child Rescue Operation took 3 days and concluded on Thursday February 12th, 2026.
In the statement DCJS Commission Rossana Rosado said "Every missing child case represents a young person who deserves to be safe, supported and seen."
Commissioner Rosado adds:
This operation brought together an extraordinary group of law enforcement, nonprofit and private partners to share information, pursue new leads and connect children with the services they need.
The commissioner continued by sharing that she was "proud of the work" done by Missing Persons Clearinghouse and the other agencies to get those children home safe.

In 2025 alone 10,629 kids "younger than 18 were reported missing to police across the state." The DCJS explains that 94% of those missing children cases were reported as runaways.
By the end of 2025 there were 1,079 "active missing children cases statewide" according to the Division of Criminal Justice Services.
The DCJS is home to the Missing Persons Clearinghouse, which we mentioned several times throughout this article.
For those unfamiliar the Missing Persons Clearinghouse "provides critical support to all facets of the state's criminal justice system." They cover training law enforcement, overseeing a law enforcement accreditation program, and ensure breathalyzer and speed enforcement equipment used by local law enforcement operate correctly along with many other facets.
