Look: Busy 12 Hours for A Hudson Valley Fire Department

Many of us know people who are first responders. If you know someone who is in EMS or a fire department it will come as no surprise that these folks regularly have multiple calls in 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, there is no doubt that our Hudson Valley fire departments and first responders have been busy. Fire calls, car accidents, and other emergencies don't wait for the sun to come up. They also don't wait for you to get a good night's sleep.

Hudson Valley Fire Departments Are Busy 24/7/365

We owe a debt of gratitude to the men and women who show up for us when we call. A perfect example is the a-day rotation in a fire department that took place this week at two of our Hudosn Valley fire departments. Both the Red Hook Fire Company and the Tivoli Fire Department share two interesting calls in less than 24 hours.

The first call was Monday night around 9:20 PM. The Tivoli Fire Department was dispatched to Bard College. The Manor Dorm had a smoke condition in the basement. I am sure most of us can remember getting out of bed in our college dorm for a fire alarm at least once.

Fortunately, this instance wasn't too bad turns out it was an HVAC unit that burned up. This resulted in a crew inside to take the unit out of service while other crews worked to ventilate the building. Tivolvi was assisted by other departments that included Red Hokk Fire Company Inc., Germantown Hose Company #1, Clermont Firecompany Official, and Rhinebeck Fire Department.

Less Than twelve hours later at 9:26 AM Tivoli Fire Department was Dispatched to a home that had been hit by a car. This time Tivoli Fire Department was assisted by the Red Hook Police Department.

Car Crashes into a House in Dutchess County

Fortunately, the person driving the car and the occupants of the house were all okay. The house however sustained damage. The car had needed up in the crawl space of the house so the Fire Department shored up the floor just of the house before removing the car.
