There's a lot going in in country music these days. Some big tours have just begun, the 50th ACM Awards are just around the corner, and there's some great new music coming our way. This week's Music Notes feature great live performances, gold records, and lots of milestones.
Congratulations to Lee Brice. The RIAA has issued gold digital single certification for Lee Brice's "Drinking Class." He'll kick off a headlining tour April 8 in partnership with non-profit Reverb, which pairs musicians with schools to affect environmental and social change. Big Machine's The Cadillac Three and Red Bow's Chase Bryant will open, with Natalie Stovall and The Drive, Lewis Brice and Granger Smith appearing on select dates.
In case you missed It, Little Big Town performed their latest single Girl Crush" on Tuesday night on NBC-TV's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.
Milestones all, Garth Brooks, Kenny Chesney, Miranda Lambert, Reba, George Strait, Taylor Swift and Brooks & Dunn will be honored with the 50th Anniversary Milestone Award during the 50th ACM awards. Watch it live April 19 at 8 pm on CBS-TV.
