Iconic Newburgh Business Relocating to New Hudson Valley Location

A popular business in Newburgh has announced it's moving out of its longtime home.

There are a few "pain in the a%$" things that can happen to us throughout our lives and when they happen you aren't sure how to go about fixing them. For example, the zipper breaks on your favorite pair of jeans and after you struggle to try and fix yourself you're left trying to figure out where to go to try and have it repaired. Or, you're going through your day minding your business, and out of nowhere your shoe rips, tears, or breaks (heel) what do you do?

You Go and See the "Doctor"

If you live in or around the Newburgh, NY area, the odds say you take a trip to see Dr. Shoe! For as long as I can remember Dr. Shoe has been doing business inside the Newburgh Mall off of Route 300 in Newburgh but according to a post on the Newburgh Mall Facebook page that's changing soon.

Newburgh's Dr. Shoe Relocating

Dr. Shoe a staple inside the Newburgh Mall has announced they are leaving the mall and relocating inside Tops Plus Dry Cleaners at 29 North Plank Road Newburgh, NY. The mall shared the news saying,

"With a heavy heart the Newburgh Mall says goodbye to Dr Shoe. Customer's do not fret! Dr. Shoe is RELOCATING to inside TOPS PLUS DRY CLEANERS @29 North Plank Road Newburgh, NY 12550."

Dr. Shoe is one of the Hudson Valley's most popular stores to bring items that are broken (shoes, zippers) and need to be fixed. They also offer shoe stretching, leather work, orthopedics, and much more and as news of the move started to spread many began to share memories of how the store helped them in the past. Comments included, "He revived a pair of penny loafers I had for many years", and "Always a help for your SOLES!" "Dr. Shoe is an icon!"

The Newburgh Mall ended their message saying "We wish them all the best in their NEW location!" Dr. Shoe is expected to be open at its new location on Monday, April 15, 2024.
