A simple Thank You might do but why not go one step further. This Thursday January 9th is National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day and I think we all need to make sure we find a member of our Hudson Valley law enforcement community and make it a point to let them know we appreciate all they do for us everyday.

Local police forces all over the Hudson Valley go above and beyond everyday and most of the time their efforts go unnoticed. As they would tell you it is just part of the job. There are looking for recognition. The news often carries the stories of officers that are caught up in controversy and sometimes tries to squeeze in a story or two where the officer has been single out for a good deed.

The truth is there are officers out their every day 24 / 7 / 365 doing their job protecting the community and all of us. They would tell you it is their job and they have chose to serve. Find one of the officers on Thursday and make sure he or she knows you appreciate all that they do everyday all year to keep our homes, communities and loved ones safe.
