Jason Aldean opened the Oct. 7 episode of 'Saturday Night Live' with a cover of Tom Petty's "I Won't Back Down."

Following Tom Petty's death, Marty Stuart paid tribute to him with a cover of "Runnin' Down a Dream" on 'Later ... With Jools Holland'.

Tom Petty died at age 66, following a day spent fighting to overcome an apparent heart attack.
