Text Scam

Scammers were recently busted in the Hudson Valley after they allegedly swindled thousands from their elderly victims.

Be on the lookout for a new string of text messages that advise you to sign up to receive your $1,400 special payment from the IRS.

If you've received a text recently thanking you for your payment and offering you a 'little gift' from what appears to be your own cell phone number, beware, it could be 'smishing.'

The latest text scam going around the Hudson Valley almost seems real until you think about it for a moment.
