Taco Bell Recalls 2.3 Million Pounds of Beef

Taco Bell has recalled millions of pounds of beef across the country for possible contamination.

According to USA Today, Taco Bell has recalled 2.3 million pounds of its seasoned beef. It has been recalled in 21 states, primarily the Northeast, Southeast, and eastern Midwest. This was a voluntary recall after a customer complaint.

USA Today reports that the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service announced some of Taco Bell's seasoned beef products could possibly be contaminated with extraneous materials. One of those materials, specifically, is metal shavings. The USDA said that Columbus, Ohio-based Kenosha Beef International is recalling an unknown amount of season beef products. They were produced between September 20, 2019, and October 4, 2019.

Thankfully, there have been no reports of adverse reactions to the products, according to USA Today. This product was produced at only one plant location, on only one of the two lines used to make the seasoned beef. It was sent to distribution centers in New York, New Jersey, Michigan, Ohio, and Virginia.
