I love to cook and I love to bake. I probably will never win any awards for either of them, but it doesn't matter, I love cooking for my family and friends. I feel that when you cook for someone, you're showing them how important they are to you and how much you love them.

There was a time in my life when I couldn't do either one, in fact, I thought I would never learn to cook. After some pretty significant changes in my life, I actually slowed down long enough and gave myself permission to make all kinds of mistakes and I started to learn and I started to love it.

So, imagine my excitement when I found out that I would be able to bring some special guests with me and actually bake in a kitchen at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park. It's happening this Saturday and there's still time to get in the running.

Our instructor will be Chef Kristin Egan, a graduate of Drexel University (BS Hotel and Restaurant Management) and the Culinary Institute of America (AOS Baking and Pastry). She is so cool, you are going to love her. See for yourself.

We will be baking cookies and, according to Chef Egan, you will not only take cookies home with you, but cookie dough as well. Plus, we'll have a pizza party after we spend the morning baking. We'll pick 5 winners on Wednesday afternoon, so listen at 3:50 and 4:50 each afternoon for your chance to be in the running. If you win, you can bring your child or grandchild with you, so long as they are 8 or older.

If you've ever thought how cool it would be to take a class at The Culinary Institute of America, they offer a wide variety of classes for the food enthusiast in your life, talk about a great holiday gift. Hint, hint!
