A Hudson Valley teen whose car landed on its roof is accused of speeding and driving without a license while under the influence of alcohol.

On Friday around 3:30 a.m., the Saugerties Police Department responded to a one-car rollover motor vehicle crash on Scal Bo Road in the Town of Saugerties.

Following a police investigation of the crash, an 18-year-old man from the Village of Saugerties was arrested for alleged drunk driving.

The 18-year-old was driving a 2007 Chrysler on Scal Bo Road when he failed to negotiate the road due to excessive speed, crossed over the roadway and flipped his car on its roof, police say.

The teen was charged with driving while ability impaired by alcohol, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, failure to use designated lane and speed not reasonable or prudent. The 18-year-old was released to a third party. He's due back in court on Sept. 5.

The teen wasn't injured, according to the Saugerties Police Department
