A Hudson Valley teen is accused of burglarizing a local business and assaulting the owner. On Monday, New York State Police from the Poughkeepsie barracks arrested 18-year-old Kyle G. Ostrom of Clinton for burglary, assault and grand larceny, all felonies.

Around 9 a.m., troopers responded to South Road and Main Street in the town of Pleasant Valley for a fight in progress. An investigation determined Ostrom burglarized a local business, and the owners were attempting to detain him, police say. Ostrom allegedly hit one person in the head with a rock prior to the arrival of police.

During the investigation, it was also determined that Ostrom stole and used stolen credit cards for his own gain related to a prior incident, officials say.

Ostrom was arraigned before the town of Pleasant Valley Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash or $30,000 bond.
