A police treasurer from the Hudson Valley is accused of stealing nearly $40,000 from the PBA. On Friday, New York State Police from Wappinger arrested 47-year-old Lori A. Bailey of Highland Falls for grand larceny, a class D felony.

An investigation found Bailey embezzled $36,720 from the Village of Fishkill Police Benevolent Association while serving as treasurer, police say. Bailey is accused of using the funds for her personal benefit.

Bailey was arraigned before the Village of Fishkill Court, and released on $1,000 cash bail. She's scheduled to appear before in court on June 25.

Bailey was indicted in April for stealing funds from the Village of Highlands Police Department PBA, where she also worked, according to Hudson Valley Post correspondent Todd Bender. She was charged with two counts of falsifying records and grand larceny.
