2 arrests were made in Port Jervis that possibly relate to a previous overdose death.

On Friday, April 20, the City of Port Jervis Police Department published a press release stating that two people had been arrested. According to the release, Katelynn Smith, 23, and Gloria Bruno, 62, were charged with various Class B Felonies relating to the sale and possession of Oxycodone.

Katelynn Smith was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree. Gloria Bruno was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree and Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the 3rd degree. Bruno is also accused of illegally distributing the drugs to Smith.

As stated in the release, an investigation based upon circumstances that lead up to a previous overdose death of a 28-year-old lead to the arrests. An investigation of the death is continuing.
