If you're looking to add a furry member to your family, the Ulster County SPCA is a great place to start. They have dogs, cats, puppies, kittens, guinea pigs, bunnies, and more. Here's just one of the many pets they have that are available for adoption. Meet Maxi, this week's Pet of the Week.

Maxi is a beautiful 2-4 year-old female, Domestic Short Hair. Maxi has been at the Ulster County SPCA since 2014 and she is still a little nervous around people. She has her favorite spots in the Main Adoption Room, usually by a window laying in a bed, or on top of someone's cage so she can keep an eye on everything that's going on around her.

Maxi is a gentle soul that is waiting for the day that someone will come in and fall in love with her. At first, Maxi may back away if you attempt to pet her head, but after a few visits, she will be much more comfortable and may even rub up against you! She is looking for a quiet household that will be kind and patient with her until she becomes comfortable.

Maxi is OK with kids as long as they are calm and the same goes for other animals!  Maxi is part of a “Name Your Own Price” promotion so the Ulster County SPCA simply asks for a donation of your choosing! Thank you and Maxi hopes to see you soon!
