The folks in their hometown we on the edge of their seats as the nationwide voting took place this week on the NBC hit singing competition show The Voice.

Twenty contestants remained on the show, and the results of the nationwide vote of the live Top 20 performances would mean that only thirteen of those singers would survive and be back to sing another day.

Plus, this was the first time since the new season started that people in Newtown would be able to actually vote, instead of just watching, and try and get Jim and Sasha to the next round.

Apparently, the Newtown vote helped and the Allen's advanced to the Top 13 and will be back again next week to try and get a little closer to the finals - possibly winning the whole competition.

According to newtownbee.com, the song that they chose to perform on the show for America's vote was the Beatles Hey Jude, which right away brought Voice judges John Legend and Ariana Grande to their feet, and prompted Legend to tell them that they were "compelling to watch, and so confident and in control". The duo is actually part of Team Ariana on the show.

Right now, there's so much juice about the duo in their hometown that the operations manager at Edmond Town Hall, Sheila E. Torres, has planned a special viewing party for Monday, November 15, which is when the next round of the Voice continues, and Jim and Sasha perform again.

Doors for the viewing party will open at 7 PM, and the entire episode will be shown on the theater's big screen. Free tickets will be required if you would like to attend, and can be obtained on the Edmond Town Hall Website.

You can also catch The Voice on your TV at home and catch the Allen's next performance. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 PM on NBC.
