The New York State Senate is once again trying to pass a law that would allow the sale of alcohol in movie theaters. Lawmakers have tried before but failed. Some may be a bit confused about all this, for there are theaters in the state that do allow the sale of alcohol, though the establishment has to be classified as a restaurant in order to do so.

Some politicians feel the sale of booze could help boost business and attendance. Governor Andrew Cuomo has tried pushing the agenda in the past, that would allow wine and beer to be served at movies rated PG-13, R, or NC17. NY Senator Patrick Gallivan reiterated:

I think this is something that's very critical in the legislature, in the Assembly in particular, is missing the point that some of our local theaters in small towns... are struggling for their existence.

Do you feel this would help attendance? Is alcohol in movie theaters a good idea?
