New Windsor Man Seriously Injured Following Accident on Thruway

A New Windsor Man has serious physical injuries following an accident on I-87.

State Police are investigating a rollover accident of a 2015 Dodge Dart southbound on the New York State Thruway at the Exit 15 ramp near the I-287 south.

According to the New York State Thruway TRANsalert on Twitter the accident caused heavy traffic delays on I-87 South with the left lane of exit 15 blocked.

State Police identified the injured driver as a 26-year-old male from New Windsor. The unnamed man was air lifted to Westchester Medical Center with serious physical injuries.

The accident is still under investigation. Officials say more information will be released as it becomes available.
