There is a new restaurant opening in Rhinbeck, NY this week and it is a venture from the same people who brought you Amsterdam on Route 9 in Rhinebeck. The new restaurant is called 'Lucky Dragon' and it is in the location that held former local favorites, The Local and Catch 38 (38 Market St).

The impetus behind the name and the concept can best be explained this way (via email release):

Lucky Dragon is our homage to the amazing Chinese food we grew up with in Toronto, the dim sum we fell in love with while living in the San Francisco area, and the superb Mandarin + Cantonese dishes we enjoyed in NYC's iconic Chinatown.

Located just around the corner at 38 W. Market Street (in the space formerly occupied by The Local + Catch 38) Lucky Dragon offers elevated but everyday Chinese food, utilizing produce and products from the surrounding Hudson Valley. We call it "farm-to-chopsticks."

If you make it to the opening day or to the opening weekend, let us know what you thought. Maybe we will even see you there!
