A man who was convicted of murder in the 1990s stabbed a fellow inmate inside a Hudson Valley prison.

New York State Police at Ellenville arrested 41-year-old Christopher P. Croshier, an inmate at Eastern Correctional Facility in Napanoch. He’s been charged with 2nd-degree assault and 3rd-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies.

The New York State Police and the New York State Department of Correctional Services conducted an investigation into an inmate on inmate assault from February 23, 2016 at the Ulster County Facility. According to State Police, the investigation revealed that Croshier stabbed another inmate with a ball point pen.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for non-life threating injuries.

According to New York State Department of Correctional Services and Community Supervision website, Croshier was convicted of 2nd-degree murder and 1st-degree assault charges in 1995. He is serving a 25 year to life prison sentence.

Croshier was arrested and processed at Eastern Correctional Facility and will be scheduled to appear in the Town of Wawarsing Court at a later date. Croshier was admitted to the Special Housing Unit pending an administrative hearing.
