A Hudson Valley school was forced to close after mold was found.

An alert posted on the Millbrook School District's website announced that visible mold was found at Elm Drive Elementary, forcing officials to cancel school for students on Friday.

An industrial hygienist performed air quality and swab tests throughout the school. After an independent lab in Manhattan gives the results back to school, likely on Friday, officials will determine a remediation plan.

School officials are also looking into options for an alternate educational site for Elm Drive Elementary students. Students at other Millbrook School District schools, Alden Place Elementary, Millbrook Middle School and Millbrook High School, had school on Friday.

This marks the second time in a matter of days that mold was found at a Millbrook school. Alden Place Elementary was closed in early September. Students return to class this past Tuesday.
