The employees at the Ulster Savings Bank were really taken by the new stray cat they had been hanging around the place.

The Times Herald says that the workers had been feeding the tortoiseshell cat and even gave her a name - Penny.

So, about a week ago a few of the employees took the cat to the Ulster SPCA get her spayed and make sure she had her shots.

But upon arrival, SPCA Medical Director Brian Schoomaker saw that this cat had already been spayed so he checked for a microchip to see if there was an address. This cat may have belonged to someone. He said:

Sure enough, we found the owner's name and address, and we knew we were on to something.

Thing was, it was an old address. So Schoonmaker went on Facebook to search for any sort of information he could find. The results were quite surprising.

He eventually found the family -  a military family stationed in North Carolina. Turns out, Penny's real name was Izzy and she had gone missing in 2014.  Two whole years!

And luckily, the family happened to be visiting Long Island.

The family reportedly came to the Ulster County SPCA to claim Izzy Thursday.

It's nice to finally read some good news for a change.
