A man drowned in the Hudson Valley in an area where swimming isn't allowed.

On Monday around 10 a.m., dive teams found the body of 31-year-old Scott Charlot of Bogota in Lake Skannatati in Harriman State Park, according to Northjersey.com

Charlot was swimming in an area at the Harriman State Park where swimming is prohibited, officials say.

"Swimming is not allowed in the lake at all," New York State Park Police Sgt. Greg Doell told Northjersey.com.

Witness told police Charlot was last seen Sunday swimming in the lake before he disappeared under the surface of the water.

An autopsy is being done to see if drugs or alcohol were involved. The investigation into the drowning continues.

New York State Police, New York State Park Police, Tuxedo Fire Department and Stoney Point Fire Department searched for Charlot.
