A local attraction has been named one of the scariest in the country, and it's not too late to check it out for yourself.

Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses in Ulster Park was just ranked number three by Yahoo! in a list of the most terrifying haunted houses in the U.S. That's pretty impressive, considering the list includes world-famous haunts like "The 13th Gate" in Baton Rouge, "Netherworld" in Atlanta and "The Bates Motel" in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania.

It's not too late to check out this horrifying display for yourself. Headless Horseman will still be open this weekend, and as an added bonus they're offering free admission to some of the Hudson Valley's bravest.

The Headless Horseman will be admitting fire fighters, police and EMS workers on November 6 and 7 for free. In a press release, the award-winning attraction says they are making the offer as a "thank you" to our heroes. Tickets can be purchased at the haunted house's website and those with proper ID will receive a full reimbursement for their ticket at the box office. The discount is only available to the ID holder.

Headless Horseman Hayrides and Haunted Houses already supplies free tickets to veterans and their families. Those tickets are available exclusively through vettix.org.
