Another example of how great our local fire departments and EMTs are. It all started on Sunday as a Beacon family was rushing to Vasser Bros Hospital to have their baby.

According the Poughkeepsie Journal, the baby boy couldn't wait to get to the hospital. Dad, who was driving, knew he need to find help and found just that at the New Hamburg Fire Department.

Firefighters were conducting some training on Sunday, when the noticed a frantic dad looking for help for his wife and child. And that's when the fire fighters jumped into action. Within minutes, a healthy baby boy was delivered and in his mother’s arms. Firefighters cut the umbilical cord, administered oxygen and wrapped up the baby to keep it warm until the ambulance arrived.

It's stories like this that makes our brand new Wolf Local Hero promotion so important. Do you want to nominate and Local Hero?
