Why Is This Drink Suddenly Becoming Popular in the Hudson Valley?

A new type of drink has been becoming popular in the Hudson Valley all thanks to a new show.

There's a new popular show on Hulu that's been taking the world by storm these days. As if reality television couldn't get any better...'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' has become an overnight hit with those of us who enjoy some juicy reality television. The show has literally been everywhere since it aired and you can look up anything about "the wives" on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and more.

I'm not going to give away too much about the show....you're just going to have to watch to find out more. However, (I'll talk a little bit about it) a certain type of drink that the girls make on the show has been getting ordered more in the Hudson Valley. Even before the show aired and took off HUGELY ideas about the drink were already thought about around here.

What exactly is a "dirty soda" and how do you make it?

All of the girls on the show get their caffeine fix by making a "dirty soda", it sounds fun and raunchy just saying it LOL. A dirty soda is a soda that has cream, other flavored syrups, or fruit juices in it and it's usually served over ice or some kind of milk. There's no alcohol in the soda so it's commonly referred to as mocktail (non-alcoholic beverage). I made my first dirty soda the other day for research purposes and I have to say it's pretty delicious and refreshing lol.

A few other people I'm friendly with (who watch the show) have also mentioned that they went to various spots in the Hudson Valley and attempted to make their own dirty soda combo. All of a sudden drinking a funky soda with a lot of different flavors has become cool.

It's funny because back in April before 'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' became popular I received a few advertisements about a Coffee Mate Dr. Pepper Dirty Soda creamer and at that point I had never heard of it before. I did a quick search and it looks like you can order the Coffee Mate Coconut Lime Dr. Pepper Creamer online at Target. So maybe the trend was already starting and then the Hulu show put the drink on the map?  Either way it does seem like people in the Hudson Valley are embracing the dirty soda trend and are all for it.

Exciting news too, it was just announced that the'The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives' will come coming back for another season, so I'm sure we'll see a lot more dirty soda orders and even more crazy combinations.
