
Legendary Musician To End Career With Upstate New York Concert
A legendary singer from Upstate New York is about to bid farewell to his incredible music career.
Lou Gramm, the original voice of Foreigner, has announced that he will perform his final hometown-area concert at Batavia Downs in Batavia on August 1, 2025.
The 74-year-old Grammy-nominated artist, who hails from Rochester and currently resides in Webster, has been an iconic figure in the world of rock music. As the original voice behind several chart-topping hits for Foreigner, including "Hot Blooded," "Cold As Ice," "Juke Box Hero," and "Feels Like the First Time," Gramm has left an unforgettable impact on the music industry.
In an interview with WROC, Gramm shared his sentiments about the upcoming concert, expressing his thoughts on what it would feel like to perform in front of his hometown audience for the last time. "I’m trying to kind of play it out in my head,what it’s going to be like," he said, reflecting on the occasion's significance.
Gramm's decision to retire comes in the wake of Foreigner's extended farewell tour, now led by singer Kelly Hansen, which includes an August 7 show at the Erie County Fair in Hamburg.
Despite his upcoming retirement, Gramm has assured fans that there is more music to come, with plans to release a new album in June and additional farewell concerts to be performed.
Reflecting on his musical legacy, Gramm expressed his appreciation for the enduring impact of the music he's been a part of. “There’s a lot of music I’ve been a part of that stands the test of time and it’ll be there to enjoy in the many years yet to come,” he told WROC.
