Ashley McBryde Shakes Up Nashville Bar Scene with New Concept

Raise a zero-proof glass! Ashley McBryde is opening her own bar in Nashville, with a non-alcoholic menu.

The country singer, who crossed the three-year milestone in her sobriety journey this summer, says this is a way to leave a meaningful mark on Broadway. It's a concept that is deeply personal to her.

"When the opportunity to make my mark on Broadway came, I knew I wanted to create a space that champions what's made a difference in my life," she says in a statement. "A space that lifts up the brushed aside and makes sure everyone feels welcome."

Where Is Ashley McBryde's Redemption Bar?

The new concept is called Redemption and it will make its home inside her pal Eric Church's bar. Her unique idea will occupy the fifth floor of Chief's.

McBryde's bar is the first of its kind on Broadway, but one she believes is vital to the city.

"As someone who is three years sober, the typical response to 'do you have anything non-alcoholic?' is either 'why did you come to a bar if you aren't gonna drink?' or 'you can have soda water and a lime I guess,'" she explains. "Some of my favorite places to socialize became wildly unaccommodating when the only thing that changed was what was in my cup."

Does Redemption Bar in Nashville Serve Alcohol?

Although the concept centers around zero-proof options, the bar will also offer some alcoholic menu items. Redemption is about brining everyone together.

"It was vital to create a space where not drinking is the forethought - normalized," McBryde continues. "You can get alcohol drinks in Redemption too, because everyone is welcome."

In addition to offering some boozy options, the country hitmaker's space will also stick to tradition as far as music goes. Just about every celebrity and non-celebrity bar in Music City has a stage for artists to perform. Redemption will be no different.

"Songwriters are the backbone of this community and it's important to me to create a place for all the tourists on lower Broadway to experience original music from some of the people who are keeping dreams alive in this town."
