This weekend AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas will be transformed into Country's biggest Awards show to date. The 50th Annual Academy of Country Music awards is taking over the home of the Dallas Cowboys which also happens to be more than just a home for a championship Football Team. It is a place I have always want to go, not for a football game but for the Art. Yes it is a giant Contemporary Art Gallery.

When AT&T Stadium was open in 2009 it instantly became a landmark. The complex was designed to offer it's visitor a one of a kind experience. Of course it is all about the Cowboys but it's one of a kind, state of the art design was built to enhance the fan visit beyond game day. AT&T Stadium by design and intentional partnerships, offers much more than just football. The hope was it would also give back to Texas community it serves and everyone who makes the trek to visit the stadium. It offers dining, drinking, shopping and even sight seeing. Plus, it is home to a world class collection of art.

The Art Collection personally selected by the Jones Family with help from art experts who are all well respected in their field is considered a "museum collection". Made up of 56 pieces and growing, the art is interspersed throughout the stadium so that it interacts with the stadium goer directly. It is on walls and walkways, stairs and hanging over your head as you enter different areas of the complex. It is inside and out. You can't escape it's beauty due to it's deliberate placement which only adds to the visual appeal and design of the entire stadium.

So the next time you are thinking we should visit a world class art collection maybe skip a big museum and head to a football stadium. If you are an art enthusiasts the AT&T Stadium collection, also known as The Dallas Cowboy Collection must be on the must see list.

CBS this morning did a story about the collection in the Fall of 2013
