There are many beautiful locations throughout the Hudson Valley to hold a holiday party, wedding reception, or even a wedding itself. There's another amazing venue that might be added to the list soon.

According to the Daily Freeman, Mills Mansion in Staatsburgh could once again be the site of private parties and galas. The state Office of Parks Recreation and Historic Preservation is drafting a request seeking proposals from private entities interested in leasing a portion of the opulent mansion and willing to sink $1 million in capital investment into the site. A bill making its way through the state Assembly would add the mansion to the list of state properties available for lease to private businesses for as long as 40 years.

According to the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation, and Historic Preservation, this mansion was the country home of Ogden Mills and his wife Ruth Livingston Mills. The home was remodeled by the prestigious New York City architectural firm of McKim, Mead and White in 1895-1896, and when completed it went from a 25 room Greek Revival Style home to a 65-room, 14-bathroom Beaux-Arts mansion.

There's no time table set at this point, but can you imagine how beautiful your event would be at this home?
