The month of May got off to a cool start in the Hudson Valley after seeing temperatures in April fall well below average. We even saw some of the only snowfall this winter during early April, but will the below normal temperatures last through May?

The Weather Channel says that temperatures should warm up to slightly above seasonable levels across the Hudson Valley and most of the eastern United States during May. Some parts of western New York will experience much above average temperatures.

The first week of the month should start of rainy and cool with warmer weather on the way by next week. This should help with the extremely dry conditions and fire danger the northeast has seen over the past few weeks.

Many forecasters are still calling for a hotter than normal summer across the Hudson Valley and most of the country.  The warmer conditions should also bring rainier weather across the east this summer.
