A teacher from the Hudson Valley is accused of stealing political signs from a local resident's yard.

On Monday, the Rosendale Police Department reported the arrest of Laura C. Ebert, 54, of Cottekill.

Officers responded to a reported larceny complaint involving political signs at a home in the Town of Rosendale.

As part of an investigation, police found a video recording which shows a woman that appears to be Ebert exit her vehicle and remove political signs from a homeowner's yard, according to authorities.

A woman recently tweeted a video of another woman removing signs for John Faso and Marc Molinaro from her front lawn. The comment's section alleges the woman is Ebert.

With the cooperation of Ebert, the signs that were taken were found and recovered, police say.

A source tells Hudson Valley Post, Ebert teaches Economics at SUNY New Paltz. She's been teaching at the college in the economics department since 2010, according to the college's website.

Ebert was charged with petit larceny and is scheduled to appear in the Town of Rosendale Court at a later date
