Hudson Valley Driver Shot, Gucci Bag With Over $2,000 Stolen
Police need your help after a Hudson Valley man was shot while driving and robbed of thousands of dollars.
On Wednesday around noon, City of Poughkeepsie 911 received a call reporting a car accident in front of 52 Catharine Street.
Additional calls reported a shooting victim was also in the area.
Responding officers soon found the car that was involved. The driver, a 34-year-old man from Pawling, was shot in the leg, police say. He was taken to Vassar Hospital for treatment.
The victim told authorities he stopped his car on Catharine Street to adjust his Bluetooth when an unknown person jumped into his car, shot him and took his Gucci backpack which contained several thousand dollars.
The alleged shooter then jumped into a maroon SUV type vehicle and fled the area.
