A large reward is being offered after a dog was stolen from a Hudson Valley man's car on Valentine's Day.

Around 8:30 p.m. on Valentine's Day, Steven Carino's Shih Tzu-Yorkie mix, Oliver, was taken from his car while it was parked on Central Park in Scarsdale, according to social media posts. The car was parked outside Mom's Cigar Store and King China Buffet. Carino says the dog was taken when he ran into the cigar shop to buy some cigars.

"I write this post with a broken heart for my brother, Steve. Last night, Valentine’s Day , his dog Oliver was stolen from his car. It happened in an instant. He is devastated, to say the least . Anyone who knows Steve knows that his dogs mean the world to him, " Nancy Carino Johansen wrote on Facebook.

Carino is offering a $5,000 cash reward with no questions asked if his dog is returned safely.

"Oliver means the world to me and my family," Carino told NBC. "He is such a loving, sweet dog, that needs to be with me as I need to be with him. Short story, we need each other."

If you have information on Oliver's whereabouts you can call Steve at 917-697-4374.
